January 2009

A Message from Mike Leonard, CSI Nashville Chapter President 2009-2010

Happy New Year CSI Nashville! I hope all of you are rested and recovered from 2009 and ready to begin anew with 2010!

While we did not have regular chapter meetings, our chapter was quite active in the month of December. I’d like to thank our Membership Chairman, Jeff Wallen, for putting together a Chili- Cookoff and new member orientation mixer early in the month. The event was well attended and several members contributed to the Chili cook-off. It was great to spend some time chatting with current and new members all while eating one of my favorites…chili! See Jeff’s summary of the event in this month’s Specifacts.

We also had a good turnout, 20 by my count, for our Holiday Party in December. This year, as in years past, we joined with ABC along with the Nashville Chapters of the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) and the American Subcontractors Association (ASATN) in a gathering on Elm Hill Pike with gift donations going to Toys for Tots. Again, it was nice to mix with other organizations in our industry.

Thanks also to many of you who have expressed interest in planning future events and mixers in the coming months - we have much to look forward to this year! Take note of the following events happening in January – and we’ll see you at an upcoming gathering.

Mike Leonard CSI, CDT
